How to Choose the Best Dentist for You
Selecting the best dentist for your needs can play a major role in the outcome of your dental treatment. With so many options available, choosing the right dentist may seem like a daunting task. To help you with your research and the decision-making process, Dr. Keckley recommends prospective patients consider the following key questions:
- What are the dentist’s credentials?
- Is the dentist a member of any professional organizations?
- What are the dentist’s areas of specialty?
- How often does the dentist perform the procedure you are considering?
- Are there before-and-after photos of past patients you can view?
- Does the dentist have any online ratings and reviews, or patient testimonials you can read?
- How long can you expect the results of your procedure to last?
- How much will your treatment cost?
- Does the practice offer any financing options to help cover the cost of treatments and procedures?
When you are researching dentists, keep in mind that the cheapest option may not be the best option. The cost of treatment typically takes into account the experience of the dentist along with the geographic location of the practice. Patients who choose a less experienced dentist to save on the up-front cost may find that their dental work does not last as long, ultimately costing them more money over time. When you take the time to carefully research dentists in your area, we encourage you to consider your dental work an investment in the future of your smile. Choosing your dentist based upon credentials, experience, and a proven track record of results will often lead to the most satisfactory outcome.
